Top eBay Sales: November 2015

Our sales are ramping up as Christmas approaches!  You’ll notice that the majority of our sales are higher in amount if not profit percentage.  If just wasn’t fitting with our schedule or desired life plan to ramp up our number of listings and sales.  Quality over quantity!  Lately we haven’t been buying anything while thrifting unless we’re pretty confident it can sell for $50+

So if you’re into making money on eBay, check out some of these BOLOs for your own thrifting!

Item: RARE* BROOKS BROTHERS 100% COW NAPPA LEATHER BOMBER COAT JACKET // size 44
Paid Price: $19.95
Sale Price: $89.95
Shipping: Buyer Paid
Notes:
Brooks Brothers leather goods are always something to be on the look out for.  Their shirts, shoes, pants, belts, and jackets are all worth picking up!  This one took about a month to sell.

Item: Vintage Corvette Genuine Brown Leather Lined Jacket – 42 – Men’s Medium
Paid Price: $8.00
Sale Price: $64.95
Shipping: Buyer Paid
Notes:
Vintage Corvette?  Yes, please!  Anything vintage and leather promoting a specific brand (especially if it’s motor related) is worth picking up.  This one only lasted a couple weeks in our store.

Item: Ecco Men’s Track II Mid Boot (Size EU 43; US 9 – 9.5) Gore Tex & Brown Leather
Paid Price: $70
Sale Price: $159.95
Shipping: Buyer Paid
Notes:
These were one of the most expensive items we’ve ever purchased at a thrift store but we knew they’d pay off quickly.  They are a current line of boot and still had the $199.95 sticker from Nordstrom on them.  We priced them to sell because of a few storage scrapes and they moved on to their new home in less than a week!  With eBay, ya gotta spend money to make money!

Item: Authentic Gucci Horse Bit Studded Red & Green Clogs – Women’s 7.5 Wood Heels
Paid Price: $8.00
Sale Price: $48.00
Shipping: Buyer Paid
Notes:
This is first authentic Gucci item we’ve every found while thrifting and, predictably, they were in kind of rough shape.  Beause of their nicks, foot bed wear, and missing heel pad we put them on bid starting at 3x what we paid for them.  Luckily they went even higher and we have a satisfied buyer!

Item: Nightmare Before Christmas Walt Disney World Jack Skellington Frame 4 X 6 NIB
Paid Price: $2.00
Sale Price: $34.95
Shipping: Buyer Paid
Notes:
Anything with a cult following sells extremely well and this picture frame was no exception.  It was listed for less than 24 hours before selling.  This past week we also found a Nightmare Before Christmas cookie jar that originally sold at Disneyland for $49.95.  For us however, it sold in 2 days for….well…more than that.  Watch for next months update to find out how much!

Item: Vintage JVC Portable CD Player XL-P70 Home Audio Station Unit AC-RS2
Paid Price: $3.00
Sale Price: $195.00
Shipping: Buyer Paid
Notes: T
his was without a doubt one of our coolest sales of the month.  $3.00 to $195.00 in less than a week.  There was only one other for sale on eBay at the time and it was priced at $65.  It came without the dock so we decided to shoot for the stars.  We really considered buying the other one and flipping it but someone bought it before we could get our grubby little paws on it.  Live and learn!

Item: The North Face Men’s 700 Fill Down Packable Puffer Coat – Size Medium – Yellow
Paid Price: $18.00
Sale Price: $79.00
Shipping: Buyer Paid
Notes:
This jacket had some pretty significant staining and wear so we were shocked to see it go so high.  We bought it at our local ski sale and thought it would go for $40-$50.  Since it was a pack-able version (highly desirable) we decided to put it on bid and see what happened.  The result was a fat chunk of change in our PayPal account!

Item: VtG POLLINI Signature Monogram Leather Italian Bucket Handbag Bag Italy *RARE*
Paid Price: $4.00
Sale Price: $129.95
Shipping: Buyer Paid
Notes:
Let me share a secret with you.  If you see something out of place, grab it and check it out.  We have found so many great things that people picked up and carried around before finally deciding they didn’t want it.  This on was the only one out of place in a long line of purses so we grabbed it, felt the quality, and looked it up!  It took a couple months to sell but it was sure easy to picture and pack!  Always be sure to look in the returns at dressing rooms and on the ends of aisles where people tend to dump things.

Item: Levi Strauss Sherpa Fleece Lined Jean Jacket Mens XL Standard Trucker
Paid Price: $8.00
Sale Price: $59.95
Shipping: Buyer Paid
Notes:
This jacket was in nearly new condition when we picked it up…besides a lingering smoke smell.  Two cycles in the washer and some time drying in the sun totally fixed it!  Positive feedback received!

Item: Steger Mukluks Men’s Size 11 – Brown Moosehide & Canvas
Paid Price: $8.00
Sale Price: $59.95
Shipping: Buyer Paid
Notes:
These barely made it through the checkout with us.  We knew they were valuable when new ($200+) but they just seemed too worn and rumpled.  Much to our surprise they sold within 2 days of listing!  Unusual sells!

Sony TCM-150 Handheld Tape Cassette Voice Recorder – Language Study – PackageItem:
Paid Price: $4.00
Sale Price: $49.95
Shipping: Buyer Paid
Notes:
This is a prime example of creating value for your items.  The player itself was worth about $20…but with $3 of thrifted accessories all of a sudden it’s a “Language Learning Package” and is worth 2.5x that!  Adding a cheap pair of headphones as a bonus is a great way to lure in customers that are on the edge.Did you have any sales worthy of note this past month?
