If you have a nice pair of shoes that spent too long at the bottom of your closet they probably need a bit of love. Reshaping shoes is quick and easy once you know how to do it.
However, if you sell shoes on eBay, cleaning your shoes is one of the most important things you can do to boost their value. In as little as 10 minutes we improved to look and feel of these boots enough to justify twice the asking price!
While this strategy works best for leather shoes it can be used for all types of shoes.
1. Wipe off boots with a damp rag.
Hopefully, the boots are clean enough that they’ll just need a once over with a rag. Be sure to get all the contaminants and dust off as any remnants will disrupt the next step.
2. Apply Mink Oil to leather
Mink Oil softens and moisturizers leather. This will help both with color and with the suppleness when you reshape the boots. Be sure to wipe off the excess and give them a minute or two to soak it all up.
3. Stuff boots with wet rags and let them dry in the desired shape.
Fairly straight forward. The only word of caution that I will give here is to be sure the rags you use are clean so as to avoid any nasty smells left in the boots.
That’s all there is to it! 10 minutes plus a little drying time to totally revamp a pair of boots! Best of luck!
