If you’re looking at ordering something from Poshmark you’re probably wondering how long it will take for you to receive it. Whether you need something before leaving on a trip or you’re hoping to have a gift in time for a birthday there are lots of reasons why you’d need your order by a certain date.

However, the number one determining factor of when you will receive your package is when it is shipped. However, how long it takes Poshmark to ship is determined by the individual seller you are buying from.

Poshmark gives sellers on its platform 7 days from the date of purchase to ship an order. Top-rated sellers strive to ship within 24 hours while the average shipping time is 2-3 days. This means that orders are delivered to the buyer between 2 days and 2 weeks of purchase.

As a buyer, you can always ask the seller when they will be able to ship if you need the item by a specific day.

How To Get Faster Shipping On Poshmark

Unlike a traditional online store, Poshmark is a selling platform made up of individual sellers. For example, I sell on Poshmark and I’m just some random dude. So, technically, it’s not Poshmark shipping your item.

Contacting Poshmark about the shipping of items you purchased on their platform is not super effective as the most they will do is send the seller a reminder.

How, then, can you make sure that your Poshmark order doesn’t take too long to ship?

There are two things you can do to get an idea of when your Poshmark order will ship:

Look For Sellers With A Quick Shipping Time

If you’re wondering about how long a seller on Poshmark will take to ship, don’t worry, Poshmark records and reports it for.

If you are using the Poshmark app simply navigate to the “About” section of the person who is selling the item you’re interested in.

One of the top stats shown is the average amount of time they take to ship (in days).

Just be aware that this stat doesn’t take weekends into account so, even if it says 2 days, they might be shipping within 24 hours during the week.

Also, note that the number is not necessarily indicative of what the seller is currently doing. The seller shown here has been a Poshmark seller for 8 years and has shipped over a thousand orders.

During that time they may have had ebbs and flows in their shipping time. Meaning that they may now be averaging slightly faster or slower than what is shown.

Don’t discount sellers with good reviews that have a higher shipping time. Most Poshmark sellers are part-timers with other jobs and end up shipping on evenings and weekends. I would consider any average time under 3 days to be a good sign that the seller will try to get your order out quickly.

Ask The Seller When They’ll Be Able To Ship

This may not be the most pleasing option for you introverts out there but the most reliable way to find out how long your Poshmark order is going to take to ship is to simply ask the seller.

Once you’ve found their average time you’ll have a pretty good idea but asking them will let you know if there’s anything going on on their end that could slow down their shipping.

For example, I typically ship my order on only 2-3 days a week so, if someone asks, I’ll let them know that their order will be going out on the next shipping day and will usually take 2-3 days to reach them.

However, there have been times when my shipping times have slowed due to trips, family emergencies, or other life circumstances. If you ask, the seller will usually tell you. And, even better, they’ll feel the need to live up to what they told you, virtually guaranteeing you a shipping time.

What happens if a seller doesn’t ship my items?

If you’re worried about getting scammed on Poshmark, don’t be. Poshmark is a legitimate and safe platform.

In fact, the way you get paid on Poshmark leaves you, as a buyer, with a significant amount of protection. If a buyer fails to ship within their given 7-day timeframe Poshmark will simply refund the full cost of your purchase.

There is no way for a seller to simply not ship your order and get away with your money because they don’t get paid until the item is confirmed as delivered.

How long does delivery take after shipping?

Knowing how long it takes your Poshmark order to ship is only the first part of the equation when it comes to how long it will take for you to have your item.

The next (and usually more problematic) part is how long the shipping company will take to get the item to you.

It’s worth noting here that the seller has no control over the item or special information once they have dropped it off. Contacting or harassing a seller about a slow-moving item that is already with the shipping company will not garner you any information.

In the event that an item was shipped correctly (eg. the correct shipping address was used, it wasn’t missent, sent to a black-hole zip code, etc.) most Poshmark orders are delivered within 4 days.

Once an item has been shipped, patience is the best policy. There are some things you can do if your USPS tracking isn’t updating but, beyond that, simply track your item on the app and wait!
